Huawei grows by 70% YoY in Q1 2024 global TWS earphone market: Canalys

Canalys has once again shared a detailed report on the Q1 2024 global TWS earphone market where Huawei has scored a 70% YoY growth rate. This time, the Chinese tech maker achieved the fourth position with 5% of the worldwide market share.

Last month, Canalys shared the data regarding earphone growth in the Q1 2024 global market where Huawei has been standing at the 5th position. But now the company has jumped to the fourth place with an increase in its annual growth rate.

Huawei has surpassed boAT in both unit share and YoY increment. The Chinese tech giant scored 71% in annual growth and 5% market share on the global surface.

It has shipped 3.4 million TWS earphones and 3.5 million smart personal audio in the global market. New products like Huawei FreeBuds 3 Pro and FreeClip helped the company to step ahead in the Q1 2024 global TWS earphone market, says Canalys.

Other tech vendors:

The research firm has talked about all types of headsets such as TWS (True Wireless Stereo), wireless earphones, and wireless headphones. Leading the race, Apple is in first place with a 24% market share and a drop of 8% in annual growth.

Xiaomi lies in the second sport with an 8% unit share and a 61% YoY rise. It is the second brand with the highest annual growth rate, after Huawei. Samsung approaches third place with the same market share as Xiaomi and a 3% growth rate.

Further inputs highlight that the global market has sold 90 million units with a 6% YoY increase in the first quarter of this year. Among all types, the open headphone is seeing a double-digital growth this quarter due to high consumer demand.

Tech vendors are constantly enhancing their audio wearables as per the trends and advancements in the market. One of the analysts at Canalys – Claire Qin says:

“The OWS market is a game-changer. For players to succeed, they must focus on earning genuine consumer trust and fostering deep brand loyalty.”
