Counterpoint has revealed the kids smartwatch growth in global markets for Q2 2024 and Huawei ranked second in this listing. The Chinese phone maker has captured 11% of the market share in the worldwide children’s wearable segment.

Huawei is significantly growing in the global wearable market. As per an IDC report, the company topped the respective ranking in the second quarter of this year.

Now another report is here, showing the company’s contribution to the kids’ smartwatch section. Inputs reveal that Huawei obtained the second spot in the Q2 2024 global kids smartwatch market listing with a market share of 11%.

The company is seeing a slight decline in this category compared to other tech vendors in the space. The decline rate is unknown. Although a drop could be because Huawei shifted its focus towards advanced watch categories like the GT 5 series.

The good news is that Huawei managed to make it to the list of top three brands. Counterpoint says that the market is still undeveloped. But as soon as it grows, more of the tech giants will get a chance to improve their position in this segment.

Looking at the other rankers, BBK (Imoo) has ranked first with 48% of the total share in this field. Meanwhile, Xiaomi is sitting in third place with 4% of the market share. Rest of the 38% share has been taken by Honor, boAt, noise, Fitbit, and others.

Further details state that Chinese tech makers have mainly led the global kids smartwatch market this time, with a 64% share. This is less than 72%, last year. Some particular regions managed to grow even in the period of recession.

North America, for instance, has progressed 1.5x following the new Fitbit watch release and the expansion of the other brands in the market. As per the info, the overall global kids smartwatch shipments raised by 4%YoY in the second quarter of 2024.

Counterpoint says that kids smartwatches have become popular among consumers in recent times. Parents are mainly preferring the device to keep their children away from smartphones as well as the harmful impacts of social media. This segment will likely reach 7% growth in the upcoming months.
