Huawei global smartwatch market grew by 57% YoY in H1 2020, Watch GT 2 series sales remains robust
The global smartwatch market posted over 20% revenue growth despite the COVID-19 pandemic and shipments remaining flat in the first half of 2020 compared to the same period last year, reveals the latest research from Counterpoint.
According to the data, Huawei is one of the top three smartwatch makers in the first half of 2020 and the Chinese tech giant saw over 57% Year on Year (YoY) growth in its shipments, jumping to the second spot globally.
The researcher noted that Huawei Watch GT 2 series was quite famous among home market China and Asian markets, with shipment volumes, grow 90% in both regions.
Meanwhile, Apple tops the chart with the highest market share of 51.4% and its watches saw growth of 22% around the globe during the 1H 2020.
