Huawei gets approval for security system and device chip patent

On April 29, the Huawei patent entitled “a security system and device chip” is authorized in China. According to the information, this patent greatly improves the security capabilities of the security component equipped in the smart devices.

According to the information, Huawei patent for a security system and device chip can analyze the difficulty in side-channel attacks to enhance the overall device’s system security as well as protect from threats.

Patent description:

The patent document reveals that the security system consisted of security components and a clock randomization processing unit. The security system is configured to receive a clock signal, and randomly change the level of a high-level step or a low-level step in the clock signal.

Afterward, it arranges and inputs the altered clock signal to the security component. Before inputting the clock signal to the security component, the clock signal is firstly randomized, and then the randomized clock signal is input to the security component.

Now, The randomized clock signal will cause the internal modules to work irregularly, thereby greatly increasing the analysis difficulty in side-channel attacks.
