Huawei FreeBuds 6i receives first update with triple tap gesture optimizations

Huawei FreeBuds 6i earphones launched last month and the company is now improving its user experience with the first software update. The latest build has packed new optimizations for the earbuds to enhance its performance efficiency.

Starting with the version, Huawei FreeBuds 6i is receiving its first update via HarmonyOS 4.2.0.116 build number. Users are required to download a software package of 3.06 Megabytes to enjoy the newest enhancements and changes.

The update optimizes the triple-tap gesture for the newly launched earbuds. You can adjust the gesture between the ‘None, Left, Right’ option as per your preference to tune on to your favorite song without opening your phone or launching the app.

Next addition is new voiceovers for double-tap and triple-tap gestures. This will help to have a clear sound of your voice on phone calls by simply tapping on the earbuds.

Optimizations:

  • Adds the triple-tap gesture. You can set the gesture to None, or for the left/right earbuds to play the previous/next track.
  • Adds voiceovers for the Double Tap and Triple Tap Gestures.

Note that Huawei FreeBuds 6i already supports a few gestures to ease certain operations. Although the new update will enhance these gestures to a greater extent.
