Huawei FreeBuds 5 is grabbing HarmonyOS 4.2 enhancements

Huawei is rolling out HarmonyOS 4.2 update for FreeBuds 5 users. The latest firmware brings useful enhancements for the audio wearables. It also improves the stability aspects to maintain the device’s efficiency and usability for its owners.

The Chinese phone maker has delivered the stable HarmonyOS 4.2 version to FreeBuds Pro 3/2, and FreeClip so far. Now the company is bringing the significant upgrade and its improvements for the FreeBuds 5 users in its home ground.

Huawei FreeBuds 5 users can identify the HarmonyOS 4.2 update via the 4.2.0.202 build number. It is approaching the respective device owners in a phased rollout. Thus, it may take some days to cover all the eligible units.

Users can keep an eye on the Huawei AI Life app to install the latest version manually. Open the app and visit the update interface. Now follow the on-screen prompts.

In terms of changes, Huawei FreeBuds 5 is receiving new pop-up themes. Users may customize the pop menu that shows the effective connections between the phone and earbuds. The firmware also boosts Bluetooth stability connection.

Apart from these additions, the changelog doesn’t show any new features. But you may observe some hidden changes after the update installation. Make sure that your phone is connected to earbuds while updating. Also, earbuds and its charging case should have at least 20% battery.
