Huawei founder says Trump’s announcement won’t impact much to the company

The US president Donald Trump has promised to ease restriction on Huawei, in which the company can gain access to U.S. technology supplies but the founder of Huawei doesn’t see big scope in Trump’s regards.

Ren Zhengfei Founder and CEO of Huawei said in an interview to FinancialTimes that President Trump’s announcement is good for American firms and Huawei is willing to continue to buy products from those companies but he doesn’t see any big impact from this decision.

“President Trump’s statements are good for American companies. Huawei is also willing to continue to buy products from American companies,” said Ren Zhengfei. “But we don’t see much impact on what we are currently doing. We will still focus on doing our own job right.”, reported

In May, The US commerce department added Huawei in trade blacklist, barring the company from buying components and software from the U.S. technology firms.

After this Google decision to stop providing software services raised concerns in many of the retailers and business partner, as a result, they stopped purchasing new stocks as well as abandoned taking new orders from the consumers.

Following this, on June 29, Trump announced ease in trade restriction for Huawei, in which the company will be allowed to resume its purchase from the U.S. tech firms. This decision once again opened new doors for Huawei.

“The US is helping us in a great way by giving us these difficulties. Under external pressure, we have become more united than ever,” Mr. Ren said in the interview. “If we aren’t allowed to use US components, we are very confident in our ability to use components made in China and other countries.”
