Huawei expanding March 2021 security update for Mate 40 Pro smartphone
At present, Huawei is busy in preparation for the upcoming high-end smartphone, the Huawei P50 series. Earlier to this, the discussion of the next annual flagship Huawei Mate 50 is started and begins to crack up.
Aside from this, Huawei is also performing well in terms of delivering system security update for its existing devices. Last week, Huawei has sent a software update for Mate 40 Pro in Australia that installs March 2021 security patch.
Now, the company is expanding the March 2021 security improvements for Mate 40 Pro smartphones in Europe. It fixes different levels of exploits and issue that protects the device threats.
On the other hand, just recently, Huawei has debuted a number of 4G variants of existing 5G smartphones including Mate 40 Pro, Mate X2, P40, and Nova 8 Pro. Apart from 5G, the rest of the specification remains the same.
According to the previous information, Huawei Mate 40 Pro 4G has received TENAA certification in China. And the shocking thing is that the phone is registered with a pre-built HarmonyOS 2.0 operating system, which Huawei’s first phone to be spotted with pre-installed HarmonyOS.

Before you upgrade:
- We recommend you take a backup of your important data.
- Use a stable connection to download the update package.
- Do not forcefully turn off the phone, once the installation is started.

HOW TO CHECK FOR UPDATE:
To download this update manually, go to Settings then System & updates, then open Software update, from here select Check for updates. If an update is available it’ll pop up on your phone and an option of Download and install will appear. Press the option and start to download.
You can also request software updates through the Support app. To do this, open the Support app, go to the Service tab on the bottom bar, tap on the update, then select Check for updates and then download and install.
