Huawei enters top 3 Chinese smartphone makers list in Q2 2024: TechInsights

Huawei continues to show growth momentum in the Chinese smartphone market for Q2 2024. The company has entered the top three rankers list with the highest annual progress rate. It has also increased its overall share in the home ground.

TechInsights released a new report on the Chinese smartphone market for Q2 2024 where vivo, OPPO, and Huawei stand at the top three positions with great scores.

Starting with Huawei, the OEM has become the fastest-growing brand in the native region. It shipped around 10.4 million units in the second quarter, leading to a 56.8% YoY increase in the growth rate compared to the last year (same period).

Further inputs reveal that the company owned a 15.4% market share this time. Perhaps this would be due to impressive sales of the Pura 70 series in the market.

The company unveiled the flagship smartphone lineup in April 2024. Till then, it’s a huge demand among consumers. Another credit goes to the Nova 12 handsets that continue to boost the mid-range market with its high-fy features and iconic design.

These smartphones have brought the brand to the third position in the Q2 2024 Chinese smartphone race. Huawei has now entered the mid-range foldable field with Nova Flip. The device will likely uplift the company’s sales revenue to a greater extent.

Other brands in the listing:

Vivo has grabbed the first place with a shipment of 13.1 million units. It achieved 19.4% of the market share and grew by 13.9% annually. OPPO followed the queue and sold around 11.2 million smartphones, gaining a 16.4% market share. Despite new launches and a high shipment rate, it has significantly dropped to 8.2% YoY.

Honor ranked fourth with a fall of 4.6% YoY. The firm’s sales reached 10.3 million units due to the mid-range 200 series. It currently has a 15.3% market share. Xiaomi obtained fifth place with 10 million unit shipments and 14.8% market share.

The overall Chinese smartphone market in the second quarter of 2024 has grown by 5%YoY. A total of 67.4 million units have been shipped. The analysts believe that super promotion events and improved supply chains helped companies to step up their growth levels. The growth may continue to the next quarter as well.
