Huawei enhances Qiankun ADS with June 2024 features update

Huawei is releasing June 2024 features update for the Qiankun ADS smart car solution. With the latest upgrade, the company has added a few enhancements to the solution. It also packs certain optimizations to deliver an improved driving experience.

Qiankun ADS solution came into the spotlight at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show. It offers faster and enhanced performance than the previous ADS version. The company has also used this solution for some new smart car models like BAIC STELATO S9.

Now the Chinese tech giant is making the Huawei Qiankun ADS car solution more effective with the June 2024 update. The company has announced it via its official Weibo account and has started rolling it out gradually to eligible vehicle models.

June 2024 features update brings a new smart parking perception tool and traffic light countdown to the map. The former will work on improving the precision of smart parking. It will help in recognizing low steps or flower beds quickly to prevent smash-ups.

The latter on the other hand, supports traffic light indications in advance. Users will see a traffic light countdown sign on the display screen before they reach the signal site. Although the feature is currently missing for certain intersection points.

Huawei has further enhanced the 3D view of ADS. Now users will see a detailed display for both small and large vehicles in 3 dimensional layouts on the infotainment screen.

Also, the Qiankun ADS 3D view will show a purple interface for the M5 MAX RS, S7 MAX RS, and S7 Ultra smart cars. This visual effect will work under the Sport+ mode.

The next add-on is to enable/disable the rearview mirror for parking as well as the panoramic image. The rearview mirror will auto-fold on identifying any obstacle too close in a narrow parking space. You can open it manually when required.

Huawei has made some changes to the APA smart parking interface. When the vehicle goes into R gear, the ADS solution will open the APA interface by default. Users can change this setting under Huawei Intelligent Driving > Assisted Driving > Panoramic View on the control screen.

The Chinese phone maker has also added a new ‘seat belt reminder’ feature with a vibration effect. When facing lane lines or other related scenarios, the car system will prompt ‘Please take over immediately’ along with a seat belt vibration reminder.

This new feature is currently available for Avita 11 and AITO M9. But with the new Qiankun ADS update, other eligible car users will also get these useful capabilities.
