Huawei efforts for new game controller, appears in a new patent

Huawei has recently issued a new patent in gaming technology for a customized video game controller. As the name reflects, users would be able to shape their controllers according to the required tools or weapons in the gameplay.

Up to this point, we have only seen fixed game controllers with traditional bold designs and buttons to handle gaming functions on the screen. But it looks like Huawei is planning to add a new twist to the ordinary video game controlling system.

Looking into the patent application, Huawei aims to allow players to mold their customized game controller as per their will. One can dismantle and then reconnect the pieces of the controller to form a new weapon as demanded in the game or that can fit the player’s style and needs.

The information reveals a base component, which will work as the main part for all the pieces. Using the other separable elements, one can reform the controller as a steering wheel, a powerful gun, and other interesting game weapons.

Meanwhile, the above image shows the kinds of formations a player can opt for with the modified controller. Users can mold the control system into a wheel for car racing games, or give it the shape of an advanced gun, rifle, or short pistol in shooting or while fighting battles.

Consequently, it is unclear whether the Chinese tech giant will bring this iconic video game controller mechanism to the real world. However, such types of controllers with separable components will enable users to experience the next level of customization on their hands.
