Huawei could soon unveil a Nova foldable phone codenamed ‘PSD’
Huawei is seemingly making a new foldable phone but unlike the Mate and Pocket series, the device belongs to the Nova lineup. A recent piece of news reports that the Chinese phone maker will soon unveil a mid-range folding handset for its consumers.
Weibo tipster @FixedFocus reports that a new Huawei Nova foldable phone is coming soon. The device is codenamed ‘PSD’ and is currently in the development stage.
Belonging to the Nova lineup, the upcoming folding phone could be a mid-range device and might range around 5000 yuan ($689) unlike the Mate and Pocket series.
The tipster further mentioned that the new Nova foldable launch will happen in August and not recently. If true, there are still two months in between and we may grab more revelations about this alleged folding handset in the coming days.
Huawei certified a new 5G phone with model number ‘PSD-AL00’ on the 3C database two weeks back. Details revealed that the device bears a 66W charger and will likely belong to the Nova line. Now the latest leak connects well to the previous listing.
Some other inputs hint that the Nova foldable will be a clamshell rather than a book-type foldable. Both Mate and P series have folding gadgets but a similar product has been missing for the Nova line. It seems the OEM may soon fill this void.
It is unclear what new changes the Nova foldable will bring to the table. Yet with this device, Huawei might focus on the mid-range consumer market in China. This will ultimately help the firm increase its overall sales revenue in the home ground.
Huawei Pocket 2
The Chinese maker unveiled the Pocket 2 vertical foldable in February this year with a larger cover display, quad-camera, stylish design, and many other impressive features.
Pocket 2 runs on the Kirin 9000s 5G chip and we can expect the same chip for the Nova foldable as well. Some other features of the device include a hyperspectral lens, a 4520mAh battery, HarmonyOS 4.0, an anti-collision protection display, and upgraded strong rocket hinge technology. Read More…
