Huawei continues to lead China’s wearable market in Q4 2020: IDC
Yesterday, IDC (International Data Corporation) has released a quarterly tracking report of China’s wearable market for the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2020. This report discloses that the total shipment in Q4 accounted for 30.36 million units.
According to the research report, Huawei ranked first with 6.7161 million units shipments and accounted market share of 22.3% as well as noted a 9.4% increase in year-on-year growth rate.
Huawei has achieved this place by mainly selling two wearable, Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro and the world’s first TWS earphones – FreeBuds Pro. Aside from this, the company has launched a number of smartwatches and earbuds to fulfill the consumer’s need.
However, Xiaomi secured the second position with 5.904 million units, with a market share of 19.5%, as well as a declination of 11.2% year-on-year. Followed by Apple with 5.803 units, OPPO and BBK ranked fourth and fifth with 1.388 million units and 1.218 million units respectively.
Additionally, the report reveals that in 2020 China’s wearable device market shipments will be close to 110 million units with a year-on-year increase of 7.5%. Also, the basic wearable, which doesn’t support the third-party application shipment recorded 25.18 million with 10.3% Y0Y while the smart wearable was 5.08 million units and reported a decline of 3.6% YoY.
