Huawei continues to lead 5G RAN equipment market in H1 2024: GlobalData
Huawei has once again won the crown of the 5G RAN market in H1 2024, says a new report. This is the sixth year when the Chinese tech giant left its rivals behind in the 5G RAN network equipment race and captured the top position.
GlobalData has shared its analysis for the H1 2024 5G RAN market and named Huawei as the ‘Leader’. The research organization started releasing this report in 2019 and since then, the Chinese OEM has been the winner in this category.
The firm has analyzed the competitors in the 5G RAN market under five aspects. The list includes AAU, RRU, mmWave, BBU, and energy efficiency. Huawei scored good grades in all these assessments and became the leader of the 5G RAN market.
Huawei’s constant lead in the equipment race shows that the OEM is enhancing its products’ performance over time. The company has not only looked at user experience but also simplified the deployment of its RAN technology, made its operation and maintenance green, as well as smoothened network evolution.
AAU (Active Antenna Unit) from Huawei has surpassed its rivals in portfolio diversity, module output power, and compactness. It has been in demand worldwide for its optimal coverage and energy-efficient properties within less space.
MIMO products, on the other hand, are present in over 100 networks globally. Huawei says that these are small packages that easily deploy and support single, dual, and tri-band parameters. They are much better than 4T4R in 10db coverage.
RRU products are the next in this list and defeated their opponents in output power, frequency bands, and portability. A good example of these products is the Huawei tri-band 8T solution. It bears 1.8GHz, 2.1GHz, and 2.6GHz true wideband techs.
The 8T solution further improves coverage by 7db, releases triple spectral efficiency, and becomes 30% more energy efficient than 4T4R, when linked with FDD beamforming.
GlobalData notes that Huawei contains the most complete mmWave products with the highest performance. They run on large antenna arrays, reducing the obstacles of mmWave coverage. All these Huawei network products and solutions follow the ‘0 bit and 0 watt’ scheme to result in 99% of in-depth energy conservation.
