Huawei continue to rock Chinese foldable phone market
Huawei is dominating the Chinese foldable phone market and the latest graphs shown by a market tracker reveal so much about the latest trends in Huawei’s home ground.
A Chinese smartphone market researcher named IResearch released a report on China’s foldable phone market of 2023 including the progress made in the past year.
Among major Chinese smartphone brands, Huawei’s folding smartphone has the highest price at 18,999 yuan. Samsung ranks second at 15,999 yuan and Honor (10,888 yuan) comes third. Followed by vivo (9,999 yuan), Xiaomi (8,999 yuan), OPPO (7,999 yuan) Yuan) for fourth, fifth, and sixth respectively.
In 2022, Huawei occupied a 51.3% market share, followed by Samsung (18.8%), OPPO, Xiaomi, and Vivo with 8.8%, 7.7%, and 6.4% respectively. Huawei’s foldable phone market share has exceeded 50% in the last three years.
The top 5 models in the Chinese market for annual sales include Huawei P50 Pocket which has 590,000 units, Mate X2 sold 380,000 units, and Mate Xs2 sold 340,000 units.
The other two models are Samsung Z Flip 3 (360,000 units), and OPPO Find N (250,000 units). Huawei’s total sales of folding machines were 1.46 million units, and Samsung’s sales were 540,000 units.
These are quite overwhelming results and Huawei continues to defy the gravity here by launching new foldable phones. As the Chinese foldable phone maker now preparing to launch Huawei Mate X3, which will launch soon in the market.
