Huawei confirms MatePad 12X launch for global consumers
Huawei has published a new teaser confirming the global launch of a new tablet – MatePad 12X. The company will unveil this device at the Innovative Product Launch conference on September 19. Perhaps the OEM has more offerings for its consumers.
The tech giant has already confirmed two smartwatches for its September 19 event. Now a new teaser points out a sleek tablet with a distinct design for global users.

MatePad 12X has recently appeared on the TDRA UAE as a ‘Wi-Fi only’ product. After phones and foldables, Huawei seems to expand the X-tag to its tablet line.
Huawei MatePad 12X teaser image highlights a thin tablet in a grass green color. Unlike other Huawei tablets, the new device has a giant pill-shaped camera bump on back with an LED Flash and Huawei branding. One of the sides shows speaker voids.

Notably, this tablet has launched as MatePad Air 2024 in China. It brings elegant color options, a dual-rear camera setup, a 10100mAh cell, and many AI features.
Huawei is now ready to unveil this tablet as the MatePad 12X for global consumers. It would be worth seeing what changes the device adopts over the Chinese variant.
MatePad Air 2024:
The Chinese model comes in four soft shades: Green, Cherry Blossom Pink, Feather Sand White, and Smoky Gray. It measures 183 x 270 x 5.9mm with 555 grams of weight. The device has a 12-inch IPS touch screen with 2800 x 1840 pixels resolution.
Other display capabilities are 280 PPI, 16.7 million colors, P3 wide color gamut, 1000 nits peak brightness, and a 144Hz refresh rate. It runs on HarmonyOS 4.2 and equips Kirin 9000W. This is the same chip found in MatePad Pro 13.2.
Huawei MatePad Air 2024 uses a dual-lens arrangement on the rear side with a 13MP HD main camera and an 8MP wide-angle lens. It has an 8MP selfie lens. The device packs a 10100mAh cell with 66W superfast charging. It offers 14 hours of local video playback.
