Huawei completes EMUI 13 rollout as of November 2023
As of November 2023, Huawei completed the rollout of EMUI 13 for global smartphones. This makes time for the company to move toward the next major software release. But we don’t have a clue about the next major software.
In March this year, Huawei announced the early adopter program to test EMUI 13 in smartphones. The top picks for the first phase were the Huawei P50 Pro, P50 Pocket, and Mate Xs 2. These were also the latest flagship phones with EMUI 12.
However, Huawei listed EMUI 13 on the official website around October 2022. Still, the company took 5 months to begin the EMUI 13 beta. Importantly, Huawei only opened the initial beta testing for the East Asian markets with these three devices.
The company announced no new schedule of upgrades for global smartphone users. Speaking of which, there are new phones – Huawei Nova 10 and 10 Pro and Mate 40 Pro that joined the EMUI 13 beta activity. Once again, these phones were also opened for the East Asian markets first.
In May, Huawei officially came up with an upgrade plan for smartphones and it was quite short as compared to past releases. There were only 11 models selected to receive EMUI 13 in the one and only batch.
In June, Huawei expanded the EMUI 13 beta for more global testers, and then the sequence continued to grow to other different regions. At the same time, users in Asia began to receive stable EMUI 13.
In August the company began a wide stable release of EMUI 13 for Huawei P50 Pro, Mate 40 Pro, Mate Xs 2, P50 Pocket, and Nova 10 series. As of October, Huawei initiated the EMUI 13 software update for Huawei Nova 9, 9 SE, and Y90 models. And that’s it, this is how Huawei completed the EMUI 13 rollout by November 2023.
Short?
Yes, it’s a short roadmap, essential phones such as the Huawei P40 Pro should have been considered as the phone has value among consumers. Speaking of which, Huawei P30 Pro users were also waiting for this software update.
But providing this new release to a handful of phones may be a short consignment.
