Huawei certifies old smartphone with EMUI 13, rollout coming?
Huawei EMUI 13 is still far away from the reach of global users and now the company has given some indication that it may soon release it for old smartphones.
WiFi Alliance recently published a certificate for Huawei model NAM-LX9, which belongs to the global version of Huawei Nova 9 and runs EMUI 13 software. However, there are no other details revealed in the certificate.
Usually, smartphone makers certify phones with Wi-Fi alliances in order to push the latest software updates for the existing devices.
For now, Huawei Nova 9 runs EMUI 12 software out of the box, and the company has not yet released EMUI 13 software update for this smartphone. Other than, Huawei Nova 9, there are no other devices appearing on the certification site.
EMUI 13
Last October, Huawei silently listed EMUI 13 on its official website and the company has not yet started beta activity for old devices. Compared to this, Huawei began EMUI 12 beta in December 2021 and the rollout for the top flagship completed by early 2022.
The certification has brought in new hope for old Huawei smartphone owners but we need some solid proof for the EMUI 13 rollout.
EMUI 13 is one of the most exciting EMUI versions so far and brings a number of new changes to the user interface (UI) and user experience.
The app swipe up is making its debut with EMUI 13 and allows you to check key options of top mobile apps with just a swipe gesture on the app icon. This feature is a brand new standard that was first introduced with HarmonyOS 2 and it is now making its way to global smartphone users.
Service widgets is another major change coming for EMUI devices. It enables quick insights into the mobile apps along with different widget sizes to fit your home screen.
EMUI 13 also has new additions that help you to manage service widgets with group and stack widgets options. Furthermore, smart folders bring new capability that allows you to resize large folders in different layouts.
There’s a lot more to explore in EMUI 13 and we’re eagerly waiting for the company to rollout this major version to smartphones.
