Huawei CEO says Luxeed S7 smart car begins large-scale delivery
Yu Chengdong- the Chairman of the Huawei Smart Car Solutions BU announced that the company has begun the large-scale delivery of the Luxeed S7 smart car. Customers who have booked the premium electric sedan will soon receive it.
Huawei CEO shared a post on its official Weibo page and said that a large number of Luxeed S7 has left the production line, starting today. These models are on their way to reach users who have reserved them for a long while, waiting for the product.
At the 2024 China Electric Vehicles 100 Forum Event, Yu Chengdong mentioned that Luxeed S7 is facing problems in mass production due to the chipset shortage. Although the company is working hard to figure out things as soon as possible.

Giving a time frame, Huawei CEO said that the Luxeed S7 delivery process will be normal by the next month (April). It seems the company has resolved the internal issues and customers will soon collect their pre-booked electric sedan.
It is worth mentioning that there have been about 20,000 orders of Luxeed S7 since November 2023 with a price tag of 249,800 yuan ($34,600). Thus it may take some time to cover all the ordered units in the native region.
Luxeed S7:
The smart car is jointly developed by Chery and Huawei. The former looked after the production work while the latter has been responsible for delivering smart car solutions. Yu mentions that the car holds around 8 major Huawei techs.
The company is also working on a new Luxeed S7 model which is likely to show up on the consumer surface on April 8. It would be worth seeing what major upgrades the latest model carries over the previous one.
