Huawei smartphone comes with a number of new security feature that helps you to safe-keep your phone’s home screen with unknown access. These include traditional – fingerprint, pattern, and pin unlock as well as the new face unlock methods.

However, Huawei has published a new patent related to the face unlock technology in smartphones to prevent forced illegal access. The company has published a new patent on March 3 named “A method for unlocking a display screen and its device”.

The idea of this patent is to prevent any illegal access to the corresponding face unlock feature-powered Huawei smartphone by declining attempts of forced face unlock attempts through start technology.

Patent description:

Details show that the Huawei face unlocks technology patent has pupil parameter, and light reflection intensity of the face through the front camera module while the screen is locked but stays on to provide brightness on the user’s face.

If the pupil parameter is bigger than the recorded pupil parameter and if it’s decided that the user is currently in a coercive state, a preset unlock UI will pop up on the screen. The UI will then show manual unlock methods of unlocking the smartphone including at least one traditional method such as PIN, Fingerprint, Iris, Voice, and others.

Thereafter, the phone will take only manual input of these unlocking methods, so only the real owner will know how to pass through these unlocking methods.

The Huawei technology will help to prevent forced phone unlock in smartphones of the real owner of the device.
