Huawei brings smartphones and smart wearables to the mining industry

During the 20th China International Coal Mining Technology Exchange and Equipment Summit, Huawei announced a whole set of new modified smartphones, smartwatches, and other wearables for the mining industry.

To launch these products, Huawei is collaborating with its industry partners in order to deliver the full range of smart products for the mining field.

This product lineup has 16 products based on 6 device categories including smartphones with satellite communication, safety meters, and bone conduction headsets. With this release, Huawei is aiming to provide a smart mining expereince for the mining industry, says the tech maker.

Among these, the Huawei Mate 60 series has been modified and adapted with new technologies with KA and MA certifications. The key functionality includes the two-way satellite SMS and Nearlink technology. The phone also has a mining industry version of the HarmonyOS operating system. There are features such as one-touch connection and wireless listening as well as super device multi-device collaboration.

Under these new products, Huawei also introduced the new Huawei Mate 40, a mining safety meter, a smart miner’s lamp, and other devices for different needs in the mining environment.

The bone conduction headphones for miners have Huawei’s noise cancellation algorithm with uplink and downlink two-way bone conduction technology. This helps the miners to reduce strong noise during mining, washing, and transportation scenarios. Importantly, the noise cancellation keeps the user available to hear other people despite rectifying the disturbance.

Huawei says that these devices will help miners conveniently conduct real-time calls, share information, warn, call for emergency help, and monitor their health underground.
