Huawei began testing HarmonyOS 3.1 but not EMUI 13
Huawei has already begun testing HarmonyOS 3.1 developer preview for P50 and P50 Pro in China but there’s no clue of the EMUI 13 software rollout for global devices.
On February 9, 2023, Huawei opened HarmonyOS 3.1 developer preview for the Chinese model of the P50 and P50 Pro smartphone, it will allow the developer with corresponding models to test the latest applications in a real time physical device environment.
EMUI 13 comes with a number of new features and it is a brand-new user experience. The features list was officially announced 5 months ago but till now, there’s no roadmap available for its release on old devices.
Also, Huawei Mate 50 Pro is the only phone that reigns supreme with this new software. But fans are quite disappointed with the fact that Huawei is not sharing any details of the EMUI 13 update for their models.
This reaction from Huawei users makes sense because other smartphone makers such as Samsung already distributed One UI 5.0 for its old smartphone and now began sending One UI 5.1 for flagship devices.
It’s hard to ignore the fact that global Huawei smartphone owners have to wait a lot to grab a new major software update. On the flip side, Huawei in China has also installed HarmonyOS 3 in the homeground for major releases
And now the wagon has moved to HarmonyOS 3.1 but the absence of EMUI 13 is surreal and there are no answers from the official channel.
There are many exciting additions such as the new personalized interactions, you just have to swipe up to activate additional options. This EMUI version will also debut service widgets, a functionality that was a mission in EMUI 12.
That’s not it, you can now group or stack service widgets to free up space for a clean user interface. EMUI 13 also has improvements in performance and security.
Yet, rollout news is awaited.
