Huawei began improving Mate 40 Pro with the July 2024 EMUI update
Huawei is bringing a new July 2024 update for the old flagship Mate 40 Pro phone. While the device holders have locked their eyes on a major software upgrade, the company is serving the latest security improvements for a stable user experience.
Huawei has rolled out EMUI 14.2 for its top-end devices so far. For instance, P60 Pro, Mate 50 Pro, Nova 11 Pro, Nova Y91, Mate Xs 2, and more. Yet, many users believe that old phones like Mate 40 Pro also deserve the same software treatment.
After EMUI 13, Mate 40 Pro users expect another major upgrade. But Huawei hasn’t announced or added more devices to the official EMUI 14.2 roadmap. Thus, it is unclear if the excellent handset will get any new feature updates in the time ahead.
For now, the July 2024 update is arriving as the most-needed improvement package for the Huawei Mate 40 Pro. The firmware is tagged with EMUI 13.0.0.272 version.
July 2024 update contains new security patches and aims to refine the device’s system security. It removes existing bugs in the handset and increases its potential to fight against malicious attacks and privacy exploits hidden in the core mechanism.
Other than that, there aren’t any new optimizations for Mate 40 Pro. However, users may observe a lag-free and more responsive performance after installing the latest firmware on their smartphones.
Being an initial rollout, the new version is available to limited users. Although the company will soon release it on a wider spectrum. Till then, you can keep an eye on the update section to download the firmware as soon as it reaches your device.
Huawei is also preparing a new member for the Mate lineup – the Mate 70 series. The device will launch in the fourth quarter of this year. It will debut with a robust Kirin chip, upgraded AI capabilities, new satellite features, and more. Yet whether this offering will make its way to global markets is a big question to be answered.
