Huawei barrier-free services make technology accessible to everyone: Chairman
Huawei Consumer Business Group Chairman – Yu Chengdong says that the company is constantly developing barrier-free services to make technology available for everyone. The aim is to enhance tech experiences for every single user in the country.
Yu Chengdong reposted a Huawei Device’s post on his Weibo page. The post was regarding the company’s new sign language video service for hearing-impaired users.
The Chairman says that Huawei is upgrading its services in such a way that it can make technology beneficial for everyone. The tech should be easy to use and more effective not only for ordinary consumers but also for those with disabilities.
“Huawei continues to optimize barrier-free services to make technology accessible to everyone!” – says Yu Chengdong.
Yu Chengdong pointed out the new Huawei sign language video service. It has been used for 75 days and showed excellent results for hearing-impaired consumers.
It supports the one-to-one real-time sign language communication feature to ease conversation. With the help of AI algorithms and other high-end techs, the company has developed a sign language service for users with deaf and hearing problems.
The useful service supports 20000 sign language words and reads all kinds of postures and movements accurately. It also has digital avatars with around 26 facial expressions and lip shapes to ease sign language understanding for users.
On the flip side, the service has AI subtitles for hearing-impaired users that convert audio into text in real-time on devices. Celia offers answers to all questions and lets you make/receive calls, reply messages, and more even when you can’t speak.
Thus, one can talk to anyone at any time, ask queries, consult on health, and have conversations on different topics. As per official info, the service is open from 9:00 to 12:30 in the morning and 13:30 to 18:00 on normal working days.
Further inputs reveal that the service explains to users about new products, their usage, and related details. One can access the service via the following steps:
- Go to the My Huawei app
- Click on the Service page
- Tap on the “Quick Service” section
- Click on More > Consult
