Huawei autonomous driving team head joins Geely’s Zeekr

Recently, Chen Qi, the founder of the Huawei autonomous driving team joined Zeekr, which is an electric brand of Geely. Now, this former Huawei director will report to An Conghui, who is the CEO of Zeekr.

The reports reveal that Chen Qi will be responsible for the research and development of intelligent driving technology for Geely’s high-end electric brand. His years of experience help the carmaker in the development of smart car technologies as well as the market strategies.

About Chen Qi:

Chen Qi is one founding member of Huawei’s autonomous driving team. He also served as the director of the autonomous driving R&D department of Huawei’s Intelligent Automotive Solution Business Unit (IAS BU) in 2019.

About Zeekr:

As mentioned beforehand, Zeekr, new electric mobility technology, and solutions brand from Geely Holding Group. It’s interesting its autonomous driving team that already filled with 100 staff.

The report shows that Zeekr 001 is its first 5-door shooting brake mass-produced model. It started to market in China in October this year, and will soon enter the global market. A total of 199 units of this model was delivered in the first week.

Huawei Autonomous and Geely:

At the starting of this month, a report informs that Geely and Huawei are collaborating together, and Geely will install the autonomous technology of Huawei in its vehicles.

It’s understood that Huawei ADS unites capabilities such as one chip multi-screen, multi concurrency, and run-time deterministic support. Moreover, it provides better real-time controls to let a user experience convenient driving. Furthermore, the car OEM is working to make a stronger presence in the high-end market.
