Huawei AppGallery gets new Apps age ratings
Huawei has recently increased the security aspects of AppGallery, Huawei’s official app distribution platform. Adding to the latest development, Huawei has now started a new age-related app distribution and age-sensitive rating system for apps on AppGallery.
According to the information, Huawei has now upgraded the existing app review system and added a new user base age-related rating questionnaires service alongside the new concept of age-rating from the initial stage of application to strengthen the management of apps submitted on AppGallery.
Huawei says, that developers will have to fill the ratings based on the content and the features of the app. Based on the respective fields of the app and age rating, the system will automatically detect the behavior of the app including Bad language, regulated items and activities, simulated gambling, monetary payments, law and ethics, user interaction, user information collection, and more.
The ratings that match this behavior will be rated accordingly based on the requirement of the corresponding app listing category. If it violates or doesn’t match the age rating guidelines, it’ll not be approved.
The world’s top app marketplace – Play Store has already determined strict app age restrictions for the developers and posts apps under the children section of the app.
Furthermore, the listing details and the age ratings of the app needs minimum age requirement for users is restricted according to the gradient and the app is divided into five age actions – 3+, 7+, 12+, 16+ and 18+ content.
Users can also set a default app age system on AppGallery to match the content related to the age selection.
