Huawei announces FreeBuds SE 3 earbuds, pre-sale begins

Huawei today announced the all-new FreeBuds SE 3 and opened it for pre-sale. The audio wearable was expected to debut next year. Although the OEM surprised its consumers by listing the device and its amazing features on its official website.

So without any further ados, let’s check on the FreeBuds SE 3 specifications.

Design

FreeBuds SE 3 comes in a fashionable, light, and compact design. It has a rounded square shape and resembles a leather-like feel on the charging case. The device shines in two colors: Streamer Gold paired with a titanium box and golden leather body, and Interstellar Black which is a combo of a black box and pure leather body.

Even the earbuds have dual-color tones. The white one shows glossy buds with a matte-finish handle while the black variant shows black buds with silver handles.

Dimensions

The earphones have a dimension of 33.6 x 17.8 x 18.1mm and weigh 3.8 grams each. Whereas, the charging case measures 50.4 x 50.3 x 23.4mm and weighs 33 grams.

FreeBuds SE 3 has a 10mm dynamic sound unit with a frequency response range of 20Hz to 20kHz. The acoustic units ensure stable as well as reliable performance with a pleasant sound experience. IP54 rating suggests water splash and dust resistance.

Battery

Huawei has introduced major changes with the new cost-effective earbuds. It features 42 hours of ultra-long battery life. The earbuds can offer 3-hour long music playback in just 10 minutes of charging. It can remain active for 9 hours on a full charge.

FreeBuds SE 3 packs a 41mAh battery in each earbud and a 510mAh cell in the charging case. Charging these earphones with the pretty case takes around 60 minutes. But if you want to charge an empty earbud, then it will take 110 minutes.

Physical Buttons

Yes, the new FreeBuds SE 3 brings a special button at the bottom of the case. Pressing it for 2 seconds will turn on a white light and help you pair the device manually.

In case you prefer an auto-connection, then simply open the box cover and the earphones will automatically enter the “pairing mode”. Now keep the earbuds close to your phone and respond to the pop-up message that appears on the phone’s screen.

Device Controls

Huawei FreeBuds SE 3 has an improved built-in touch sensor that runs on your commands. You can play music, switch songs, answer or end a call, and even wake your virtual assistant to perform quick operations, without opening your device.

All you have to do is, touch the earphone handle lightly as per the given gestures:

• Double Tap: play/pause/answer/hang up
• Tap three times: default to the next song. You can set it to the previous song.
