Huawei and U Mobile teams up to accelerate 5G evolution in Malaysia

Huawei and U Mobile signed a strategic cooperation to accelerate the 5G network development in Malaysia. Under this agreement, both parties will work on enhancing network services and related R&D sectors to provide better 5G user satisfaction.

Amid UK bans on Huawei network equipment, a few regions constantly demand the company’s 5G solutions and Malaysia is one of them. After Maxis Communications, Huawei is shaking hands with U Mobile to boost 5G evolution in Malaysia.

The agreement says that Huawei will supply the most advanced hardware as well as software to U Mobile. These components will help in achieving highly efficient performance in the 5G network for the region. It will also contribute to RAN techs.

U Mobile is further seeking Huawei’s help in providing skills like global expertise and extensive R&D with its technicians. Doing so will aid the firm to meet its market needs. It will also fulfill ultra-low latency and massive bandwidth requirements.

Apart from the 5G network treatment, both tech giants will seek new and significant opportunities in financing to increase the economic growth of the region.

The CTO of U Mobile – Woon Ooi Yuen says that U Mobile is delighted to receive Huawei Malaysia’s support for the deployment of the second 5G network. He adds that Huawei’s help will support rapid 5G evolution and fulfill high-performance needs, especially for enterprise customers in the region.

“As long-term partners, we have benefitted from Huawei Malaysia’s techs and global expertise and we believe they will continue to play a critical role in helping us improve the 5G experience and also in our preparations to deploy future RAN technologies.”
