Huawei and NIO reportedly teams up to expand EV charging network
Huawei and NIO Energy recently tied up to expand the EV charging network for HarmonyOS-powered vehicles. Both parties have signed a new service cooperation agreement and announced it officially via their social media handles.
The latest agreement reads that HarmonyOS Intelligent Driving smart cars like AITO, Luxeed, STELATO, and more can easily access the NIO EV charging benefits.
It further states that HarmonyOS-powered vehicle users can use NIO EV charging stations across China. They can even explore it on the HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) app, AITO app, and a few other compatible applications.
Huawei and NIO have inked this cooperation to improve and avail the EV charging network throughout China. The latter stated that the company will keep upgrading the overall charging experience for smart cars and their efficiency over time.

NIO has allocated 3904 charging stations and 22822 charging piles in China. It is also delivering energy to around 80% of non-NIO users. The firm is looking to build a large number of charging stations and piles for a better energy availability rate.
The automaker has been looking at several ways that enhance its EV charging network in China. It even called out Huawei and Chinese automakers to discuss smart car battery problems and how they can be solved efficiently without troubling consumers.
NIO is also testing a humanoid robot Kuafu (powered by HarmonyOS) for its electric vehicle plants. With the help of Huawei, the company aims to add new advancements to its automobile sector.
