Huawei and Entel Peru jointly completed the first global commercial use of dual-band AAU based on a 5G network. Both parties have not only deployed the dynamic technology outside China but also inspected it and achieved amazing results.

The Chinese tech giant and Entel have tested the dual-band AAU 2.3GHz + 3.5GHz in Peru. It’s the first time that Huawei has tested this technology outside China.

As per details, the new Huawei dual-band AAU deployment in Peru also makes Entel the first operator to inspect the new technology. Entel has achieved the best peak network experience after installing the 5G-based AAU (Active Antenna Processing Unit).

Inputs reveal that the dual-band AAU deployment in a single module is capable of covering 30% more area than the single-band networks. It also reduces the average base station energy consumption by 30% and antenna space by 50%.

These traits will ultimately help network operators save money as well as attain the best total cost of ownership to develop a sustainable green 5G network. Overall, the new network technology placement will further boost the 5G development in Peru.

Dual-band AAU tech can resolve four major challenges for operators:

  • Dual-band high-density ELAA large array layout
  • Dual-band power transmission time interval scheduling
  • Dual-band independent remote electrical adjustment
  • Extreme Sleep

The current network technology with 2.3GHz + 3.5GHz doesn’t require much effort in deployment. It has a 1 + 1 = 1 structure. Thus, it saves antenna space and rent.

It is also energy-efficient and saves operators from high electricity bills. Operators will observe better performance improvements, enhanced coverage, and energy-saving experience.

Huawei looks to offer better network services to both Chinese and global operators. To do so, the company introduced the Pano-radio series of solutions. It’s a 3D large-angle beam that optimizes the quantity and quality of connections to create a persistent 5G network scenario.

After the first overseas commercial use of dual-band AAU, Huawei may step ahead to more regions to expand its 5G network technologies.
