Huawei and DU Telecom team up to make UAE a 5G-A country
Huawei and one of the largest UAE telecom operators – DU have signed a memorandum of strategic cooperation to launch the ‘5G-A Country’ project. Both parties will work on innovative solutions to enhance the network scenarios in the region.
The signing ceremony took place during the MWC 2024 event where Huawei and DU shared their thoughts on making the UAE (United Arab Emirates) a 5G-A country. Huawei will demonstrate 5G-A tech in the Middle East and the world to offer a wide-range network experience to its consumers.
According to the signed agreement, Huawei and DU will develop 5G-A ultimate network solutions for full city-level coverage in Dubai. They will further build a 5G-A joint innovation center to obtain 5G-Advanced tech innovation and bring large-scale usage of this technology in all scenarios.
This will include consumers, homes, and enterprises. The Chairman of Huawei UAE – Liu Jiawei says that Huawei has always been committed to promoting digital innovation that can help customers with efficient and excellent network experience.
Besides, he added that in the future, innovative applications like 24K AR&VR, 1Gbps FWA services, passive IoT, and enhanced 5G private networks will become a reality. Meanwhile, the CEO of DU in UAE – Fahad AI Hassawi said:
“This cooperation with Huawei is a key milestone for the commercialization of Du’s 5G-A network, and it is also an important innovative practice for Du to lead the industry as a global mainstream operator. Huawei’s leading technologies will support the realization of Du’s strategic vision, play an important role in 5G-Advanced business innovation and industry digitization, and jointly accelerate and deepen the UAE Digital Transformation.”
