Huawei and China Unicom partners to deploy 5G-A flexible production line

Huawei and China Unicom are helping the Boading Automation Technology Branch of Exquisite Automotive Systems Co., Ltd. to deploy a 5G-advanced (5G-A or 5.5G) flexible production line with high reliability and ultra-low latency.

The Great Wall Motor’s factor in Baoding, Hebei, 5G-Advanced equipment is being used in the car roof production line. The reliability and latency-efficient features of 5A-A make it the perfect choice for high-end core manufacturing processes, which require high response speed.

Compared to wired networks, 5G-A supports easy network deployment and empowers flexible manufacturing. The key advantages of the 5G-A network include an efficiency boost, with multi-feature by integrating data collection and industrial control via two separate private lines in wired networks.

During the 2023 Global Mobile Broadband Forum, Huawei continued to promote 5G-A technologies and its development. As of October, 13 global operators including China Unicom jointly launched the first wave of 5G-A networks for technical verification and commercial deployment.
