China Unicom and Huawei have recently made the outdoor scale network trial of the 5G-A technology. The verification has taken place in Jinqiao at Pudong. Besides, the outcomes of this activity are good enough. Let’s take a detailed look at this topic.

Huawei is constantly making efforts to expand its 5G-A network technology in its home ground and several telecom partners are helping the company to achieve its goal.

Describing the recent action on this subject, China Unicom announced on its Weibo account that it jointly conducted the outdoor scale network trial of 5G-A technology with Huawei. Speaking of the results, the downlink rate reached around 4.6Gbps.

Inputs reveal that the respective downlink score appeared after activating the three-carrier cluster and 1024QAM feature. Meanwhile, the uplink rate has hiked by 27% under power-limited conditions. For instance mid-range and remote points.

Note that the parties have used the 1024QAM feature for the first time to extend the single-user speed to its fullest. In simple words, one can enjoy 4K-8K videos, ultra-high-definition broadcasts, XR Metaverse, AI, and more anytime, anywhere.

At the same time, the companies carried out the FDD commercial trial for high-power devices in Shanghai. Surprisingly, the transmit power was raised by 3dB.

Impressed by the results, China Unicom cited that it’s a big benefit for those who often perform live streams. Despite heavily populated areas, the network experience will remain smooth and lag-free throughout the performance – thanks to 5G-A!
