Huawei 2024 Tech4Nature Summit promotes digital solutions for nature
Huawei has recently conducted the 2024 Tech4Nature Summit with its partner IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) to boost digital solutions for the environment. The OEM also said to develop better facilities for nature conservation.
IUCN says that a major reason behind joining hands with Huawei is to push innovation in nature for good. This partnership will also help others to protect the natural world from various challenges and create a more sustainable future.
Tech4Nature reflected the goals of Huawei and IUCN towards nature. Both Huawei and IUCN aim to build advanced technological solutions for Protected and Conserved Areas (PCA) worldwide. One of the effective solutions in this field is SHARE.
Chairman and Board Member of the CSD Committee for Huawei – Tao Jingwen says that the S.H.A.R.E. concept refers to Sustainability, Harmony, TECH4ALL, Reliability, and Environment. Through the accurate usage of these terms, we will create a digital and sustainable future.
Huawei further divided the Tech4Nature into two phases. The first one was in action from 2020 to 2023 in China, Mauritius, Mexico, Spain, and Switzerland.
This phase obtained detailed monitoring of the rarest animations like the Hainan gibbon to help endangered species populate again. It also formed AI pattern recognition and advanced systems for live viewing of coral reef conservation.
Phase 2 which is still in action (2023 – 2026) will run 6 projects in China, Mexico, Spain, Brazil, Kenya, and Turkey. Here Huawei and IUCN will work on cutting-edge solutions for nature conservation. In this way, Huawei Tech4Nature will promote digital solutions for environmental sustainability.
