Honor roasts Samsung with a small apology engraved on Magic V3 hinge

Honor is mocking Samsung by imprinting a small apology letter on the Magic V3 hinge. The Chinese OEM is ready to introduce its new book-type foldable in the global market. Ahead of the launch, Honor described its new creation interestingly.

The trolling topic revolves around the thin hinge. With Magic V3, Honor claims to offer the thinnest hinge solution. The device is only 9.2mm thick when folded which is far more thinner than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 (12.1 mm when folded).

If Magic V3 is so good, for what did Honor apologize to Samsung?

Well, the matter is all about poking the rival. Samsung is still struggling to manage a thin hinge mechanism for its flagship folding phones. Honor Magic V3, on the other hand, is ready to offer the slimmest and thinnest experience to users.

Roasting Samsung, Honor has engraved a 166-word apology letter on the Magic V3 hinge. The company collaborated with the UK micro-artist: Graham Short to poke the South Korean company and its Galaxy Z Fold 6 in a unique way.

Graham Short imprinted a small apology on the Magic V3 hinge. The letter is so small that one cannot read it easily. Hence, the X account holder Alvin has provided the text:

“Dear Samsung Galaxy Z Fold owners, we’re sorry. We know you were excited to buy a phone that folds in half and fits in your pocket, awkwardly. You were promised the future, a technical marvel, a world of boundless multitasking and performance.

And now, you’re probably looking at the new HONOR Magic V3 and feeling a little… betrayed. Size matters, and we feel your pain. Like being tipped for a gold medal and then coming last in the race, the knowledge that a thinner, lighter, and more durable foldable exists is enough to make anyone question their choices.

We get it. You were an early adopter, a pioneer bravely venturing into the uncharted territory of foldable screens with questionable durability. You deserve better. In fact, you deserve a gold medal. In all seriousness, we at HONOR are committed to pushing the boundaries of technology and bringing you the best possible foldable experience. We’re just saying… it’s okay to feel let down. We’d feel the same way.”

Both Honor and Samsung are among the top folding phone vendors in the global market and such trolls intensify the competition further. However, it would be worth seeing if Samsung comes up with a new “thin” handset in the time ahead, to respond on this matter.
