Honor Play 8A and Play 3 users getting October 2020 security update
Honor has begun sending a new security update for Honor Play 8A and Honor Play 3 users. This update mainly brings the security patch released in October 2020 that enhance the system security.
Honor has launched both Honor Play 8A and Play 3 smartphones with EMUI 9.0 and upgraded to EMUI 9.1. Still, these devices are running on EMUI 9.1 and getting the new security update. The Play 8A and Play 3 users will thankful to the company if they will get the EMUI 10/10.1 major upgrades.

WHAT’S NEW IN THIS UPDATE:
Security: Installs October 2020 security patch that improves system security and fixes the different levels of exploits and issues including 21 high-levels and 1 medium level of CVE’s.
Version details:
- Honor Play 8A users receiving EMUI 9.1 version 9.1.0.266 upgraded from 9.1.0.265
- Honor Play 3 users upgrading to EMUI 9.1 version 9.1.1.193 from 9.1.1.192

REMEMBER:
- Currently, this update is rolling out in China.
- The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
- The update will not erase any data.
UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS:
Download via Settings:
- Open Settings
- Click on the System & updates
- Open Software update
- Tap on Check for updates option
- If an update is available, click on Download and install
- After installation Reboot the device
Download via Support app:
- Open the Support app on your device
- Go to the Service tab
- Click on the update button
- Tap on Check for update option
- If an update is available, click on Download and install
- After installation Reboot the device
