Honor may counter Huawei Mate XT with a 10mm thick triple-foldable
After Huawei, Honor could be the second phone maker to introduce a triple-foldable phone with only 10mm thickness. It seems the Magic V3 developer is planning to raise the standard of tri-fold handsets with its own innovative creation.
X tipster @Teme says that the Honor triple-foldable phone could be 10mm thick. The tipster didn’t add other details to this subject. However, he implied that the Chinese tech giant is seemingly readying another thinnest foldable device.
Honor has amazed consumers with the thinnest book-type foldable: Magic V3. Thus, creating another “thinnest” foldable won’t be a tough job for the phone maker. Yet, it would be worth seeing how this will happen.
Previous inputs say the first Honor tri-fold will likely be thin and lightweight to take over the world’s first triple-folding phone – Huawei Mate XT.
Details also revealed that the device is almost ready. It is currently in the final stage of development. Although it won’t launch as early as the next year.
When asked Honor about its first triple folding handset’s launch, CEO Zhao Ming said that he sees new creations as a matter of business choice and not a technical segment.
Zhao simply meant that he would rather wait for the market response on the first tri-fold (Mate XT) and then look forward to launching its device. This further hints that Honor’s triple foldable is already in the pipeline.
Honor Magic V3:
The device is only 9.2mm thick and weighs 298 grams. Compared to other flagship foldable phones like Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Pixel 9 Pro Fold, the device is really the thinnest and lightest model.
Huawei Mate XT
The phone has crossed 5 million reservations ahead of its official sale. Despite launching after the iPhone 16, the tri-fold attracted immense attention. Meanwhile, a few official teasers on X hint that the device could soon debut in the global market.
Mate XT has a 12.8mm thickness when folded. Honor is now said to beat this figure with its first triple foldable. It would be worth seeing how the tri-fold table turns in the time ahead.
