Honor Magic V3/Vs3 foldable launched with satellite features, 50MP main camera, and more

On July 12, 2024, Honor launched Magic V3 and Magic Vs3 foldable phones in China. Both folding models pack some brilliant aesthetics and super-duper features. So without any delays, let’s begin the tour of these magical devices and their specs.

Specifications: Honor Magic V3

The foldable arrives in four colors: Silk Road Dunhuang, Tundra Green, Velvet Black, and Qilian Snow. It sports a 7.92-inch internal and a 6.43-inch external screen. The former has a 2344 x 2156 pixels while the latter has a 2376 x 1060 pixels resolution.

These are OLED panels with 1.07 billion colors, a DCI-PC wide color gamut, 4320Hz PWM dimming, blue light protection, AI defocus eye protection, 120Hz refresh rates, and 10 multi-touch points.

Magic Vs3:

The Vs3 foldable has the same screen dimensions as the standard version. The only difference is the PWM dimming rate, which is 3840Hz. It is available in three shades: Qilian Snow, Tundra Green, and Velvet Black.

Processor:

Honor Magic V3 equips the octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip with Adreno 750 GPU. It also uses Honor’s self-developed RF enhancement chip C1+ which reduces the antenna volume by 34% and improves the overall performance by 41%.

Magic Vs3 on the other hand, packs Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with Adreno GPU 740. Just like the standard sibling, it also uses the C1+ chip for the fastest 5G experience.

Both Honor Magic V3 and Vs3 launched with pre-installed Android 14-based MagicOS 8.0.1 operating systems. Users will be able to use several interesting features like Any Door, smart capsule, AI smart connectivity features, Parallel Space for dual SIM card binding, and more.

Camera

Magic V3 adopts a dome-shaped camera bump with an octagonal look at the back. It houses three lenses in a triangular arrangement, along with an LED Flash pill in the middle. The overall camera parameters for the foldable are:

• Ultra Wide Angle: 40MP (f/2.2 aperture)
• Periscope: 50MP (f/3.0 aperture) with laser focus, rear color temperature sensor, and 100x zoom

The device equips a 20MP front-facing lens on the external screen as well as a 20MP lens on the internal screen. Both lenses have AI smart features to beautify images.

Magic Vs3 also carries a triple-lens arrangement packed in a dynamic rectangular design. It highlights the periscope lens via a steel plate surrounding the center.

The Vs3 foldable phone has a 50MP (f/1.9 aperture) main camera, a 40MP (f/2.2 aperture) ultra-wide lens, and an 8MP (f/3.4 aperture) periscope shooter. Both internal and external screens have 16MP selfie lenses with f/2.2 aperture.

Battery:

Magic V3 comes with a 5150mAh battery with 66W wired and 50W wireless super fast charging. Whereas, the Magic Vs3 features a 5000mAh battery with the same charging capabilities as the V3 foldable.

It’s worth noting that only the Honor Magic V3 supports dual-satellite communication (two-way calling and two-way SMS). It also has the E1 chip which makes it more durable and three times more efficient than other folding phones.

Both devices are 5G capable and support 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be WLAN, 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz Wi-Fi frequency, Bluetooth 5.3, screencast, infrared remote control, gravity sensor, side-fingerprint sensor, ambient light sensor, and more.
