Honor Magic 6 to use OV50K one inch main camera

Honor will be the first smartphone maker to use a one-inch OV50K image sensor main camera, current speculations indicate that the first phone with this sensor would be the Honor Magic 6.

In terms of smartphones, the strong product in the market currently is Sony’s one-inch main sensor IMX989, which is also used in the flagship from Xiaomi.

Meanwhile, Omnivision is preparing to launch the new OV50K image sensor by the end of the year, and it could be stronger than the Sony IMX 989 in terms of specifications.

Other than that, the OV50K image sensor would also bring satellite communication technology. For now, Huawei is the only smartphone maker with this technology.

On the other hand, it will also feature large language model capabilities with advanced generative AI.
