Honor Magic 6 series gets MagicOS 8.0.0.158 update with new security patch

Honor is rolling out a new update for the Magic 6 series with the MagicOS 8.0.0.158 version. The firmware carries significant improvements for the device system. It also wipes out hidden bugs that often lead to system crashes or data leak issues.

According to the inputs, the Honor Magic 6 series is receiving the MagicOS 8.0.0.158 update with a 505MB package. This improvement pack is divided into two parts.

The first one brings the August 2024 security patch. With this addition, the device gets rid of anonymous bugs found in the previous build. The patch also fills gaps that become a gateway for malicious threats or privacy exposure attacking your data.

The second part includes optimizations for the system stability. Honor has improved the stability aspects of the device to a greater extent. Users will observe a buffer-free functioning throughout the device, even when doing heavy or multiple tasks.

MagicOS 8.0.0.158 update is currently showing up for the Magic 6 Ultimate model. Other standard and Pro variants are also receiving the same benefits. The update is rolling in batches and may take time to cover all the compatible units.

You can further try the manual installation. To do so, visit the Settings app and tap on the System & Updates section > Software Updates. Now follow the on-screen steps. Don’t forget to keep sufficient storage and battery levels in your handset.

After the Magic 6 series, the company is now busy developing the Magic 7 series flagship. Some leaks suggested that the upcoming lineup could bring a new display solution with a quad-camera setup. It may also pre-install the MagicOS 9 with amazing features.

However, none of these inputs received confirmation. Hence, it is better to take these details as a grain of salt for the moment.
