Honor Magic 2 receiving Magic UI 2.1 with Ark Compiler and EROFS in China

Honor Magic 2 has started receiving Magic UI 2.1 (Android Pie) which installs new features and system improvements including Ark Compiler and EROFS file system.

EMUI 9.1 with Ark Compiler for Mate 20 Series rolling out in China

Honor Magic 2 receiving Magic UI 2.1 with version 9.1.0.123 and the size of this update is a whopping 4.84GB.

The Magic UI 2.1 for Honor Magic 2 installs new user-friendly interface, new UI design, new features including GPU Turbo 3.0, AI Assitant, AI Video Editor, EROFS File System, Huawei Share, Wireless Projection and more.

The update also includes Ark Compiler, which can improve Android system operation fluency by 24%, response speed by 44%, and the smoothness of the third-party application up to 60%.

On the other hand, EROFS File System can increase system’s random read speed by 20% and saves up to 14% in storage to maximize the use of resources within the limited space of the device.

To said, the update outside China didn’t mention the Ark Compiler except for the EROFS File system, which enhances the device’s data management including reading and writes speed.

Back in May, Honor announced that Honor V20 and Magic 2 will the first to upgraded with Ark Compiler but only V20 received this upgrade and not the Magic 2, which has received it today.
