Honor has no pressure of Huawei’s return in the mid-range 5G market, says Honor CEO
After the release of the Honor 100 series on November 23, Honor CEO, Zhao Ming gave an interesting statement about Huawei’s return to the mid-range 5G smartphone market.
Zhao said that Honor is not under pressure “Why should Honor be under pressure?” he asked and added that the company’s latest device shows its vitality and the emergence of a strong competitor.
“Honor 100 has no rivals in the industry,” He said.
According to past reports, Huawei is preparing to launch new Nova 12 series smartphones. This smartphone lineup is expected to bring 5G network connectivity back to Nova mid-range devices after three years of hiatus.
With the success of Huawei Mate 60 models, Huawei may also gain momentum in the mid-range market with these new smartphones, predicts analysts. Back in 2020, Huawei and Honor went separate ways, after Huawei sold its former smartphone subsidiary to a Chinese business group.
Since then, both of these companies are pursuing their own goals to grow in the smartphone segment. Unlike Huawei, Honor regained access to the US supply chain and started building products with US-based technologies including the latest chipsets and software services.
The latest Honor 100 Pro comes in four memory versions 12GB+256GB, 16GB+256GB, 16GB+512GB, and 1TB storage. This device uses a 6.78-inch screen with quad-curve designs and high-quality resolution.
The Honor 100 Pro empowers photography with a 50MP main camera with SLR photography, a 112-degree ultra wide-angle camera, and a 50MP telephoto camera.
It is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and a built-in battery capacity of 5000mAh and recharges with 100W wired super fast charging.
