Honor 9 lite receiving January EMUI security update

Several older Honor smartphones – Honor 8X, 10 Lite, View10 and 20i receiving EMUI 10 around the globe but their mates are still on the EMUI version 9.1.

However, the company has promised to provide regular EMUI security patches to the device on the older OS. Speaking of these devices, Honor 9 lite is now receiving a new software update that improves its security.

Honor 9 lite is receiving a new EMUI update with January 2020 security update, which improves system security with Google security patches and fixes to 2 critical and 16 high levels of Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE).

VERSIONS:

Honor 9 lite receiving a new update with EMUI version 9.1.0.157 from 9.1.0.153 with size over 200MB.

How to Check for Update

Via Settings:

1. Open Settings
2. Click on ‘System’
3. Click on ‘Software update’
4. Click on ‘CHECK FOR UPDATES’
5. Click on ‘Download and install’

Via HiCare:

1. Open HiCare app
2. Click on ‘Services’ tab
3. Click on ‘Update’
4. Click on ‘CHECK FOR UPDATES’
5. Click on ‘Download and install’
