Here’s an early look at long form Tweet feature
Elon Musk is about to launch new Twitter features and today an early sneak peek appears at the upcoming long-form tweet. Twitter enthusiast, Nima Owji has brought us an early look at the long-form tweet feature. A shared image shows how the overall text would actually look.
As you can see, the tweet dialogue box will showcase a note “the first 280 characters will be visible by default”. This would maintain the old-school short-form text appearance in tweets, while it may allow you to expand the rest of the tweet with a show more or similar options.
Interestingly, Owji shared an early look video of the long-form tweet animation of the character count indicator. First, it completes the circle shape and then fills it up with a liquid progress bar. The animation changes according to the word account in your tweet.
I like the way that #Twitter has designed this remaining characters indicator for tweets that have more than 280 characters!

This animation is very interactive and matches the overall functionality of the long-form tweet.
Currently, Twitter has not launched long-form tweets in public but it is suggested that the feature will only be available for Twitter blue subscription holders. However, an official announcement is yet to come. Still, it’s an interesting feature and we’d love to see that in action.
