HarmonyOS NEXT public beta program scheduled for October 8
Huawei has officially scheduled the HarmonyOS NEXT public beta program for October 8. With the latest software news, the company has marked an end to rumors and speculations over the HarmonyOS NEXT stable version release.
The tech giant announced the news during the Huawei September 2024 launch event for wearables. As per the details, HarmonyOS NEXT public beta program will launch on October 8. Users can prepare their phones for this new testing activity.
Public Beta refers to a testing program that allows a large number of users to explore and inspect a new software version before its official rollout. This program aims to further improve the software based on the feedback or reported issues.
HarmonyOS NEXT has been in beta versions for a few months. Huawei launched the first developer beta after the HDC 2024 event. By August 2024, the company opened the closed beta program for more devices like Pura 70, Pocket 2, etc.
A few days ago, a Huawei official – Chen Xinxin stated that Huawei will launch the HarmonyOS NEXT stable by the end of this month. The news reported by local media resulted in several online rumors. Some tipsters refuted the information saying that Huawei will release HarmonyOS NEXT stable in October.
The mist is finally clear. The company is now ready to initiate the first HarmonyOS NEXT public beta program. Perhaps, the stable version may launch by October-end. Huawei could also directly introduce it with the Mate 70 flagship in November.
Inputs further reveal that the HarmonyOS NEXT public beta first batch will contain three device series: Mate 60 series, Mate X5 series, and the MatePad Pro 13.2.
These models are currently compatible with the native HarmonyOS public beta. But Huawei may soon bring more devices to the public testing list. For instance, Pura 70 phones, Pocket 2 foldable, FreeBuds Pro 3, MatePad Pro 11, and more.
