HarmonyOS NEXT 5.0.0.115 public beta is out for Huawei Mate 70 and Pura 70

Huawei began rolling out the new HarmonyOS NEXT 5.0.0.115 public beta for its flagship models. The firmware is currently approaching the Mate 70 series, Pura 70, and Mate 60 handsets. It will soon reach more eligible devices in the coming days.

Mate 70, Pura 70, and Mate 60 series are receiving the HarmonyOS NEXT 5.0.0.115 public beta with a huge list of features. Despite the same version, the changelog differs for the Mate 70 series and other eligible models. Let’s check the difference.

The Mate 70 series is getting a few improvements with the latest public beta. It fixes an issue in the MeeTime app that limited the preview of messages. The update also enhances the stability of the gallery and capabilities like face recognition and Celia.

Although the Pura 70 series and Mate 60 phones are receiving many features and improvements with the latest update. It brings new additions for weather and clock on the home screen. Contacts, Calendar, and Celia also get new changes.

HarmonyOS NEXT 5.0.0.115 public beta firmware is rolling out with the 1.67 GB software package. You can check the new features and other improvements below.

Mate 70 Series: Update Changelog

Gallery

• Optimizes the stability of the gallery and the operating experience of scenarios such as moments and picture reviews.

System

• Optimizes the user experience in scenarios such as face recognition, Celia wake-up, and Huawei Share, and improves the stability of the entire system.

MeeTime App

• Fixed the issue that pictures sent via MeeTime messages cannot be clicked for preview.
• Optimizes the user experience of MeeTime messages.

It is worth mentioning that Huawei has just started rolling out the new update for Mate 70 and other devices. It will take some time to reach all eligible models. Hence, if you haven’t received the latest firmware, wait patiently.

Pura 70/Mate 60 Series: Update Changelog

Gallery

• The photo day view supports grouping by date. Users can select all photos of a specific date with one click (double-finger spread to zoom in the day view interface).
• Added the AI cloud enhancement feature to the large image preview interface. It supports the cloud beautification of photos.

Contact

• Contacts can be merged intelligently and synced with SIM cards.

Calendar

• Added lunar calendar horoscope subscription service (Path: Calendar > Menu icons in the upper left corner)

Huawei Share

• You can share multiple files at once in the file management app.

Weather

• Home screen weather clock supports displaying multi-day weather forecasts. (Long press the home screen weather clock > Edit > Multi-day weather forecast)
• Port cities support tidal time cards, making sea fishing more relaxing.
• Pull down the home screen to open Celia’s search and enter the local weather such as “Shenzhen weather” to directly view the multi-day weather forecast.

MeeTime

• Added envelope message and instant message features (MeeTime Message > Plus sign > Envelope Message > Use Instant Letterhead)
• Support syncing mobile phone contacts to HarmonyOS cockpit.
• Supports sending and receiving messages with Huawei Smart Screen.
• Support sharing and opening encrypted files via the MeeTime app

Celia

• Added a new collaborative wake-up feature. When you have multiple Huawei devices that support Celia’s voice wake-up feature, you can turn on the collaborative wake-up tool. Doing so will allow a suitable device to respond to your wake-up request based on the collaborative strategy. (Settings > Celia > Wake up > Collaborative wake up)

System

• Important patch: this update optimizes the stability of some apps and improves the user experience.
