HarmonyOS Mobile December 2021 security patch details released
Huawei has published the December 2021 security patch details for its smartphone and tablet segment devices running on HarmonyOS operating system. This security update fixes common vulnerabilities and exposures found in the latest software version.
The CVEs and threats can easily harm the user’s data and can provide a way for hackers to enter your HarmonyOS powered device, which is really dangerous. To be mentioned, Huawei has already rolled this security patch for several devices in advance.
On the other hand, Huawei is also busy in preparation for the next product launch conference, which is likely to happen later this month. There are several products in the pipeline that may unveil soon that including the next folding phone Mate V, Watch D Blood Pressure smartwatch, and more.
Meanwhile, there are leaks that hint HarmonyOS will mark its presence in the global market in 2022. However, the EMUI 12 beta testing has begun among global consumers. However, the EMUI 12 features and interface have HarmonyOS vibes.
HarmonyOS 2.0 December 2021 security patch:
The December 2021 security patch brings fixes for 1 medium level CVE in the framework, 2 medium levels of CVEs in the kernel, 1 high and 2 medium levels of CVEs in the system. Also, it resolves 1 high and 2 medium levels of CVEs in the application.
Furthermore, it fixes a massive count of 62 CVEs found in the third-party libraries. If the security patch of your Huawei phone or tablet is 2021-12-01 or later, all issues described in this update and the HarmonyOS Security Bulletin – December 2021 have been resolved.
Note – CVE – CVE, short for Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures, is a list of publicly disclosed computer security flaws. When someone refers to a CVE, they mean a security flaw that’s been assigned a CVE ID number.
Rollout:
Huawei has already started to roll out the latest December 2021 security update for HarmonyOS smartphones and tablets. However, the company will continue to expand this security improvement for more devices via OTA.
