HarmonyOS ecosystem promotes high-quality gaming experience: Huawei

On July 25, 2024, Huawei attended the China International Digital Entertainment Industry Conference (CDEC) in Shanghai. At the event, a Huawei executive described how the HarmonyOS ecosystem promotes a high-quality gaming experience.

Wu Hao – the President of Huawei Device Cloud Service Interactive Media Business Group delivered a keynote at the CDEC forum. It was titled “HarmonyOS Ecosystem Technology Empowers the Creation of Quality Gaming Experience.”

The President cited that HarmonyOS has accelerated the development of smarter gaming apps. He says that HarmonyOS NEXT with self-developed components is capable of enhancing the gaming field and making it better for consumers.

HarmonyOS NEXT owns an efficient kernel and technical capabilities to broaden the boundaries of the gaming industry. Over 100 gaming app developers like NetEase Games and Leyou adapted to HarmonyOS native app versions as of this month.

Naraka: Bladepoint and Sky: Children of the Light are the two most popular games that recently completed the HarmonyOS native game app development.

Wu further says that HarmonyOS NEXT delivers a better platform for the innovative creation of the gaming industry. Huawei, on the other hand, ensures that developers get better tools, guidance, and constant support to build native HarmonyOS games.

The Chinese phone maker provides an effective combination of both software and hardware to developers. For instance, cloud compilation, cloud rendering, and end-cloud collab improve the overall fluency as well as smoothness of gaming apps.

Huawei believes that a good merger of technology helps in overcoming challenges, resulting in interactive products. Mainstream game engines, third-party self-developed engines, SDKs, and plug-ins, have adapted to HarmonyOS. Thus, a complete system and toolchain can make the adaptation 80% more efficient.

More than 2.54 million developers and 900 million devices are present in the HarmonyOS ecosystem. Huawei is also helping game developers by promoting resources and publicizing them to reach more users. Wu said:
