HarmonyOS December 2021 security patch for Huawei smartwatches

Just like smartphones, Huawei has a wide range of smartwatches in the market. To improve the security, Huawei has released the December 2021 security patch details for HarmonyOS powered smartwatches that enhance your user experience.

Huawei smartwatches launched with the HarmonyOS operating system offer premium features and enhance the overall user experience. This software system allows the users to support seamless cross-device connections across different platforms.

However, on November 17, the Chinese tech maker has launched the Huawei Watch GT 3 series equipped with HarmonyOS in China. However, this smartwatch already debuted in the global market ahead of home ground.

So, what are the fixes December 2021 HarmonyOS security patch brings for smartwatches?

Well, the latest security patch fixes 1 medium level of CVEs in the framework, 2 medium levels of CVEs in the kernel, 1 high and 2 medium levels of CVEs in the system. Moreover, it also fixes 1 high level of CVE in applications and a total of 20 CVEs in the third-party libraries.

The security vulnerabilities may affect Huawei wearables that run HarmonyOS. If the security patch level of your Huawei wearable is 2021-10-01 or later, all issues described in this update and the HarmonyOS Security Bulletin – October 2021 have been resolved.
