HarmonyOS 4.2 stable update is out for Huawei P60 and Mate 50 series

Huawei is now rolling out the stable HarmonyOS 4.2 update for the P60 and Mate 50 series phone users. After a long wait for the new software, the top-end models are now fetching the official version with many useful features and improvements.

Two days ago, the Chinese tech giant served the HarmonyOS 4.2 closed beta update to the respective devices. But it’s time for the Huawei Mate 50 and P60 handset owners to enjoy a more reliable experience with the stable HarmonyOS 4.2 update.

It is worth noting that the official HarmonyOS update for both the flagship lineups is rolling with the same 4.2.0.120 version (as the beta build). But the change appears in the list of additions for general consumers, which is quite interesting.

While the beta testers will receive new themes and optimizations for the display and security aspects, the first-time update users will get a massive changelog!

Before you proceed, ensure that your device is running on the baseline version 4.2.0.110 or 4.0.0.132. Also, keep at least 8GB of free storage to download the firmware efficiently. You can check the compatible models and the changelog below.

• Added a new geometry fun theme that lets you select different triangular shapes to create a group thus, beginning the party by following the click gesture to scroll above or below the lock screen.
• Added a new geometric sticker theme which can pile up different triangular shapes or colorful stickers, creating a personalized theme. Moreover, users can interact with these stickers via the click gesture on the lock screen.
• Added a new mood fun theme where you can choose from various cute expressions freely as well as combine them to form an enriched theme via several layout methods.
